Taken at face value this theme was way too easy for me since the majority of my photos are nature shots. So I decided to increase the challenge by placing equal emphasis on both words, giving as much weight to the "Mother" aspect as I did to "Nature."
I'm also participating in the 2014 Advent Photo Project and needed to find something to express "impressions." Looking around the house I saw this quilted table runner and decided the quilting was a fine expression of impressions!
And then I realized that this same table runner is a perfect embodiment of "Mother Nature" for me in many ways: it's a depiction of nature in autumn leaves, and it was made by my mother (and possibly finished by my sister—I don't recall exactly). And quilting became a deep part of my mother's nature, a way to practice her creativity and lavish those gifts on her loved ones.
So I've chosen this photo that travels up into the invisible space beyond our view, where my mother is now.
