Here We Go!

Here it is, folks—the first sticking snow of the season, on October 28! Guess we waited too long to bring the grill in for the winter…

Casey the Desert Dog was none too happy, let me tell you, when he felt those flakes hit his face!  My other Desert Dog, James, is moaning too.

I, on the other hand, LOVE SNOW!!!  Early morning driveway clearing is not my favorite thing, and I don't like driving on snowy, icy roads.  But otherwise, I LOVE SNOW!!!

Of course, it will all be gone by tomorrow noon, and it's supposed to go up to 50˚ on Friday.  So this is just a little teaser.  A foretaste of things to come.  A warning shot so we have time to fire up the snowblower and make sure it's working, and get our winter wardrobes ready, and put new tires on the truck, and buy another bottle of doggie aspirin for the poor old doggie's aching joints.

And put plastic over all the windows.  And maybe get the rest of the leaves raked up and onto the garden before the snow covers them completely for the winter (as happened last year).

And get our heads around the 5 or 6 months of cold and dark to come before the globe hauls itself back over to the sunny side of the orbit…
