Violin Mercies

I'm an extremely picky violin listener—it can so easily be a shrill or whiny instrument—but the sweet, pure sound of the violin I heard on NEPR this morning on the drive to my doctor's office transported me beyond all my fears of what might be causing the pain in my arm to a place of peace and loveliness.  Thank you, Isabelle Faust, for mastering your instrument so beautifully, and thank you, Beethoven, for writing this sonata two centuries ago.  (And thank you, Alexander Melnikov, for your equally masterful piano accompaniment of Ms. Faust.)
