To help us learn French before our trip to Montreal, we bought a Magnetic Poetry kit in French and have it set up on our fridge. We'll have a very poetic vocabulary—we may not be able to ask directions, but we can express existential truths in metaphoric ways, a skill every traveler to foreign lands should have, yes?

Mais oui.
Usually an "Ou est...?" gets the job done. The trouble with French is that it is spoken 35% faster than English, and as I say to les Francos with whom I speak, "Mes oreilles sont resoluments anglais!" (My ears are decidedly English)
